Driving the EV6 on the highway was a breeze. The electric motor delivers instant torque, making acceleration smooth and exhilarating. The ride is remarkably quiet, a stark contrast to the roaring engines of traditional off-road vehicles. However, the real test awaited us off the beaten path.

Off-Road Capabilities

Taking the EV6 off-road was an eye-opener. The all-wheel-drive system provided excellent traction on loose gravel and muddy trails. The ground clearance, while not as high as some dedicated off-roaders, was sufficient for most obstacles we encountered. The suspension handled bumps and dips with ease, ensuring a comfortable ride even on rough terrain.

One of the standout features was the regenerative braking system, which not only extends the range but also offers better control on steep descents. The EV6's battery performed admirably, with minimal loss of range despite the demanding conditions.

Interior Comfort and Technology

Inside, the Kia EV6 is a tech lover's dream. The dual 12.3-inch displays provide all the information you need at a glance, from navigation to battery status. The seats are supportive and comfortable, with ample legroom for both front and rear passengers. The cargo space is generous, easily accommodating all my gear for the trip.

However, the infotainment system, while feature-rich, could be more intuitive. It took a bit of time to get used to the layout and controls. But once you get the hang of it, the system offers a seamless experience.

Charging and Range

Range anxiety is a common concern with electric vehicles, but the EV6 alleviates this with its impressive range of up to 310 miles on a full charge. Charging options are versatile, with support for both AC and DC fast charging. During our trip, we made use of a fast charger, and the EV6 was back to 80% in just under 20 minutes.
